On the road to Ohio

I'm quite pleased with this little farm sketch I did as we were driving...
I was VERY relaxed and in my own little "bubble." I can get really tense when I draw, frustrated that its not turning out quite right. Oh to come to appreciate that the learning is in the doing, no matter what it looks like - to leave behind the pressure of my drawing having to be brilliant and successful! It certainly helps to be relaxed.

...and the drawing is just charming, the whole page layout just looks relaxed. It's so great to finally get a real glimpse of your USA life - through YOUR eyes - amazing...

Thanks Caff - I see why you say this is addictive. I can't leave my jolly blog alone! Maybe I should distract myself with online Scrabble...
I actually have so little work to post, I decided I'll probably post everything I can find. That way there's a record of my 'starting point'... NĂȘ?

What about going right now to get pens/paints/pencils whatever and distract yourself with some playful and relaxed sketching?!

I did a bit of drawing yesterday evening - the hyacinth and a sweet little sunrise cactus. Both bought to add a splash of colour to the house, after all the Christmas decor has been put a way. (And I pulled out my Dordogne / Lanquais work...) Yes today I promised myself to try a watercolour or two of the above mentioned blooms! Loved your naughty little weed painting...
